What is Spek?
An AI interviewer you talk to. It runs realistic interviews out loud, reacts as you answer, and then tells you what to work on, with a written breakdown.
Which phones does it work on?
iPhone and Android. It is coming to the App Store and Google Play.
Which interviews can I practise?
Job interviews, technical interviews, university admissions and scholarships, visa interviews, presentations and public speaking, or general conversation practice.
Can I practise in my own language?
Yes. It opens in your phone's language and switches whenever you do, across 99 languages including Yoruba, Hausa, Swahili, French and Arabic.
Is my voice recorded?
No. Your voice is streamed for the length of the interview so it can be understood and answered, then discarded. Transcripts of what was said are kept so you can read your feedback, until you delete them.
Who processes my data?
Google's Gemini runs the interviewer and writes your feedback. Spek asks for your permission before anything is sent, and you can withdraw it in Profile.
Can it research the company or university?
Yes. Name them and it looks them up before asking you about them.
Can I add my CV or the job description?
Yes. Paste a link or the text during the interview and it shapes its questions around them.
What if I can't speak out loud right now?
Type your answers instead. The feedback then judges what you said, not how you said it.
How accurate is the feedback?
It is written by AI and can be wrong. Treat it as a coach's opinion, not a prediction. If something it says is wrong or offensive, press and hold its words to report it.
Can I change the interviewer?
Tap its name to rename it, choose its voice, and design its face: colour, brows, lashes, eye colour, nose, lips and moustache.
How old do I need to be?
13 or older.
How do I delete my data?
Delete one interview from History, or your whole account from Profile. Without the app, use the request form on the Delete your account page.
